Tokio Marine Kiln hires from Chubb to expand aviation portfolio

Specialist insurer  Tokio Marine Kiln (TMK) has hired a Chubb executive to help expand its presence in the aviation sector.

TMK has appointed David Slevin as departmental head of aviation - a newly created post that will see him leading profitable growth and development of TMK’s aviation portfolio, which was established in 1976.

Slevin has more than 36 years’ experience in building, leading and developing profitable underwriting portfolios to the role. He joins TMK from Chubb, where he was most recently product head for aviation. His previous roles include divisional director of transport, energy and recall at Hiscox, and managing director at Faraday Syndicate.

Slevin is expected to take up his new role in Spring 2022.

Matthew Shaw, TMK’s chief underwriting officer, said: “We are delighted to bring David on board to lead our Aviation strategy as we continue to grow and diversify our portfolio. TMK has earned its reputation for innovation and excellence in this important sector and our ambitions are to take this further under David’s leadership. David will benefit from the expertise of our strong and experienced team and we are excited for his arrival next year.”
