Tokio Marine Kiln brings AXA XL underwriters to build A&H book

Specialist and corporate insurer Tokio Marine Kiln (TMK) has hired two underwriters from re/insurer AXA XL to expand its accident & health (A&H) book of business in the global market.

David Robotham has joined the company as the divisional head of A&H insurance. He has experience in both Lloyd's A&H market and Asia. He has worked at Catlin since 2002, followed by AXA XL, focusing on direct & facultative business, delegated authorities & aircrew benefits, as well as cover for high net worth individuals & hazardous occupations.

Robotham is joined by Paul De Vido as divisional head of A&H reinsurance. De Vido joined the Wellington syndicate in 2001 (later absorbed into Catlin) and has focused on direct and facultative business, both insurance, reinsurance and delegated authorities, specialising in treaty excess of loss reinsurance.

Holly Strettle, TMK's departmental head of accident, contingency & equine, said: "David and Paul's arrival completes our refocused and re-energised department and adds a wealth of new opportunities to follow. Our aim is to continue to develop strong portfolios in A&H, Contingency and Equine by combining our core strengths of quality underwriting, product relevance and claims excellence to serve these complex market areas more effectively than ever."
