Tokio Marine draws delegated property team from AXIS
Specialty insurance group Tokio Marine HCC has bolstered its delegated property team with new hires from AXIS and the Lloyd's market.
The company has appointed Scott McEwen, Iain Farries, James Harper and Jamie Tamsett, who will be under the direction of Stuart Heath, head of delegated property, and Simon Button, chief underwriting officer – London Market division of Tokio Marine HCC – International Group.
McEwen has been named as deputy head of delegated property. He has over two decades of property insurance experience, most recently at AXIS, where he led the UK and European property unit and specialised in delegated authority underwriting. He has also worked at Novae, Equity Red Star at Lloyd’s, and is currently a member of Lloyd’s Market Association’s UK commercial property & household personal lines business panel.
Farries joins as senior underwriter. With over 30 years’ experience in the insurance industry, his career has included roles at Royal London Mutual, AXA Insurance, John Holman & Son’s, Equity Red Star, Novae and AXIS.
Harper also joins as senior underwriter. With almost 20 years in the insurance industry, his expertise stems from his more than 17 years in underwriting, 15 of which were at Lloyd’s Syndicates and AXIS.
Lastly, Tamsett joins as senior claims adjuster – delegated property. He will report to Clive Jackson, head of international claims. Tamsett has worked in the insurance industry for 35 years in a variety of claims positions, most recently as the delegated claims manager for AXIS. He has also served on several Lloyd’s Market Association committees.
The new additions will expand the delegated property team, which is focused on UK and European specialty property, to six.
