TigerRisk taps Lloyd’s talent to grow international reinsurance P&C practice
Reinsurance broking and risk/capital management firm TigerRisk Partners has hired a senior analytics professional from Lloyd’s to expand its London-based international property & casualty reinsurance business.
Tim Edwards (pictured) will take up the position of EMEA cat analytics lead serving clients in the UK, Europe, and wider international region. He will join TigerRisk in October.
Edwards is currently a senior manager in the portfolio risk management team at Lloyd’s of London. Prior to Lloyd’s, he was a regional director, head of catastrophe analytics for global clients, with Willis Re. He previously worked at Guy Carpenter and RMS.
The move is part of TigerRisk’s strategy of growing its London international P&C practice, which services major global insurers and reinsurers in Europe, as well as other international markets including leading US insurers which have complex specialist broking needs for their international operations.
“We are thrilled to have hired Tim, who has vast experience at Lloyd’s and International markets in the use of modelling to help clients structure and optimise complex reinsurance portfolios,” said James Few, CEO of TigerRisk International. “The appointment of Tim further strengthens the depth of service we can offer for major insurance companies in London and Europe which require sophisticated broking advice and value-added capabilities.”
In January, TigerRisk hired experienced broker Juan England from Willis Re as partner to head up London’s international reinsurance P&C practice. In May, the company recruited Aris den Hollander from Willis Re to the London team. Den Hollander worked in the Japan team for eight years and has experience of placing, structuring and servicing complex re/insurance programmes.
