TigerRisk appoints head of capital advisory
TigerRisk Partners, a risk, capital and strategic advisor to the insurance and reinsurance industries, has appointed William Cooper as managing director and head of capital advisory. In his new role, Cooper will work closely with Tiger’s clients to help them optimise the whole of their capital and financing structure.
“Bill is unquestionably one of the foremost experts on capital and financing structures in the insurance markets,” said James Few, CEO of TigerRisk UK. “He’s been a leading force in the London market and will be an invaluable asset as our clients navigate a wide range of challenges and opportunities”
Cooper joins TigerRisk from Lloyds Bank where he was managing director of insurance and specialist finance.
“I accepted TigerRisk’s invitation because of its reputation for creativity, customer advocacy and execution,” said Cooper. “TigerRisk’s holistic approach is exactly what clients need to help them navigate today’s complex marketplace.”
Cooper started his career at Lloyds Banking Group, first training in retail banking, then moving to the corporate recovery unit – commercial banking, followed by roles as relationship director and lastly managing director and global head of the insurance sector coverage.
Cooper has more than 30 years of banking experience as a consultant/advisor with over 20 of those years devoted to serving clients in the insurance industry. Over the course of his career at Lloyds Bank, he developed a leading commercial banking franchise in UK insurance with global reach, supported a wide range of clients from start-ups to FTSE100 and equivalent, advised clients during exceptionally challenging times, and was a key member of an extended leadership team of the commercial bank. Outside of his activities at Tiger, he is a senior advisor to the CEF (an early stage venture fund run inside Cass Business School), and non-executive chairman and senior advisor at Human.ai (an InsurTech start-up).
