Tapoly moves into medical malpractice cover with industry partnership
On-demand insurer Tapoly has partnered with PLH Medical, an X-Ray imaging equipment supplier, to offer medical malpractice insurance of up to £5 million.
Tapoly’s new tie up aims to provide flexible cover for veterinary nurses, whether they are contracted or locum workers. Cover is available with an adjustable limit that enables customers to pay for what they need. It covers damages or claims expenses that result from physical injury, disease, disability, or death of any patient, mental anguish, mental injury or shock of any patient.
Professional indemnity and public liability are included at the maximum level of protection.
Janthana Kaenprakahmroy, Tapoly CEO, said the new product line showed the gig economy insurer’s commitment to making insurance accessible and affordable to everyone. “Medical malpractice insurance is needed by workers providing medical care or ancillary services to patients, where the risks could be significant.”
Mike Jenkins, managing director of PLH Medical, said: “Our customers can tailor their insurance to their specific needs and only pay for insurance when they really need it, an innovation that the locum sector has needed for so long.”
