Talanx to automate claims process using robotics and artificial intelligence
German re/insurer Talanx, the parent company of Hannover Re and HDI, has entered into a strategic partnership with intelligent automation software WorkFusion to accelerate digitalisation in insurance claims process.
The partnership is in line with its aim to rapidly establish and expand competences in the area of artificial intelligence (AI), with particular emphasis on optimisation of AI-based business processes. Talanx said the group is focusing strategically on digital transformation, alongside its growth and profitability targets.
As part of the agreement, Talanx will use WorkFusion software for automated checking and “dark” processing of incoming claims documents in the business with German private and commercial customers at its subsidiary HDI.
"The company is planning rapid upscaling," said Christoph Wetzel, chairman of the management board of HDI Versicherung AG. "HDI would therefore like to use the new solution to partially automate a large proportion of the processes in claims as early as the coming year. In addition, application at the international subsidiary companies of the Talanx Group is also being reviewed."
Wetzel explained: "We are already using robots in the insurance business. Thanks to the combination of Robotic Process Automation – RPA for short – and Artificial Intelligence, we are now able to intelligently automate the entire process end-to-end."
