Syndicate 2525 poaches senior class underwriters from Aspen
DL Dale & Others' Syndicate 2525, a specialist employers’ and third party liability Lloyd’s insurer managed by Asta Managing Agency, has strengthened its underwriting team with key hires from Aspen Insurance.
Richard Frost and Richard Loader have been appointed as senior class underwriters, reporting to active underwriter David Dale.
Frost brings a decade and a half of industry experience to Syndicate 2525. He joins from Aspen Insurance where he served as head of liability. In this role, he was tasked with managing Aspen Insurance’s UK and Irish accounts. Frost began his insurance career working for Lloyd’s.
Loader has 25 years of underwriting and broking experience. He also joins from Aspen Insurance where he was responsible for underwriting all aspects of the business’s casualty division, including national and London wholesale accounts, specialist schemes and public sector and housing association business. Loader began his insurance career as a casualty underwriter for G E Lloyd-Roberts, Syndicate 55.
The appointments follow the syndicate’s pre-emption to £65 million capacity for 2018 and management’s commitment to providing broader policyholder access to its specialist liability products.
Dale said: “Both appointments are a perfect fit for our business. They will provide additional stability and strength to our underwriting team as we push forward with our growth aspirations for the UK and Irish liability markets. Their specialist expertise and experience will significantly enhance our underwriting proposition, and I am pleased to welcome them to the team.”
