Swiss Re promotes Dua to push digital transformation
Swiss Re has promoted Samrat Dua to advance its digital transformation and data-led capabilities across the reinsurance business.
Dua, currently chief innovation & transformation officer and member of the Corporate Solutions executive committee, has been appointed chief infotech and data officer for reinsurance.
He has a deep technology background and held various roles across the group since joining Swiss Re in 2005. He has headed business transformation programmes, modernised IT landscapes and built greenfield tech-enabled businesses and platforms for Swiss Re's insurance, reinsurance and asset management units.
Prior to joining Swiss Re, Dua was a manager of consulting services at Capgemini, Ernst & Young, where he focused on the healthcare insurance and financial services sectors, managing large teams to deliver data and tech solutions to clients.
Ashley Hirst, chief underwriting officer standard, will assume Dua's responsibilities in addition to his current role. He will continue to develop new, disruptive businesses with Corporate Solutions' Innovation & Transformation Office.
Prior to joining Swiss Re, Hirst held several senior level roles at AIG, including European CUO and COO.
