Swiss Re expands in UK regional market
Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, the commercial insurance arm of Swiss Re Group, has opened a new office in Manchester to strengthen its presence in the UK regional market.
Shelley Wright, a senior insurance executive with more than 30 years of experience in the regional market, has been appointed to lead the new operation where she will be responsible for implementing its expansion strategy across the UK.
The Manchester office will serve as a regional hub for primary commercial insurance business in northern England and the Midlands, and will be fully operational by mid-July, according to the statement.
The operation will serve large and upper mid-sized companies through national broking partners with focus on primary property, casualty and select specialty business.
"We're excited to open an office in Manchester, a major commercial insurance hub," said Marc Davis, head of UK operations. "By establishing our presence in this regional market, we plan to strengthen existing relationships and capitalise on opportunities for growth with clients and brokers."

"The depth of her industry experience, combined with her successful track record in the UK regional markets, makes her the ideal leader to deliver on our plans.
