Swiss Re CS picks ex-Munich Re exec for property/specialty leadership role

Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, the commercial insurance arm of  Swiss Re, has picked a former Munich Re recruit to head up its property and specialty business in the Canadian market.

Marc Ross (pictured right) has been confirmed as the new head property & specialty Canada for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions. Based in Toronto, his appointment will be effective from September 1.

Ross takes over the role from James Gasco (pictured left), who will assume the top leadership post of head Canada for Swiss Re Corporate Solutions.

In his new role, Ross will be responsible for the general property, energy property and engineering & construction portfolios in Canada. He will also join the Canadian management team.

Ross has more than 18 years of underwriting experience. He joined Swiss Re in 2019 and most recently served as team lead property, Central & Eastern Canada. Prior to that, he held various positions with Munich Re (Temple Insurance), including director of property & engineering risks.
