Swiss Re appoints head of Globals Reinsurance
Swiss Re has appointed Gianfranco Lot as head of Globals Reinsurance. He will join the reinsurance management team on 1 April 2020.
Lot will succeed Jonathan Isherwood in the role, following news that Isherwood is to succeed Eric Smith as CEO Reinsurance Americas, regional president in April 2020.
Lot, who is currently a managing director - client executive for Globals, has more than 25 years of industry experience. He joined Swiss Re in 1995 as a casualty underwriter in Division Asia and later held various roles with increasing responsibility in the alternative risk space. He worked at reinsurer Converium for four years before returning to Swiss Re in 2006, first as senior structurer and then as the global head of Structured Reinsurance Solutions, based in Armonk. In this role, he expanded Swiss Re’s large transactions franchise with insurance and corporate clients.
