Stonybrook appoints former AIG as COO, general counsel
Insurance-focused advisory and investment firm Stonybrook Capital has hired Paolo Grassi as new COO and general counsel.
Grassi joins Stonybrook Capital from private practice, where he advises companies in the insurtech space at various stages of development, structures cross border transactions and serves in private corporate boards. He has previously worked at AIG where he served in M&A roles and led legal, compliance, regulatory and corporate affairs teams across 5 continents.
As COO, Grassi will lead operations and direct Stonybrook’s legal and administrative functions.
“Paolo is a seasoned and trusted leader who consistently delivers results," said Joseph Scheerer, Stonybrook Capital’s CEO and founder. "He joins Stonybrook Capital with a wealth of operational and legal management experience in the insurance industry and in the practice of law.
"We are thrilled to have a steady hand at the operational helm as we continue to expand our product line and broaden our customer base.”
Grassi added: “I am incredibly energized by the opportunity to lead Stonybrook’s operations and its legal function at this critical stage of the company’s growth, innovation and product diversification."
