Start-up MGA Arcadian taps rising star to lead transactional

SiriusPoint-backed MGA  Arcadian Risk Capital picked what it called a sales outperformer in professional lines to become executive vice president and head of transactional liability underwriting at its Bermuda office.

Nicole Barna (pictured) takes the executive VP post after having built the young MGAs book in the transactional liability line since shortly after Arcadian's inception in January 2021.

Barna “has been a consistently outstanding performer at Arcadian since its inception, developing a well-structured and diversified account,” Arcadian CEO John Boylan said.

“This promotion is well deserved and reflective of her outstanding contribution at Arcadian.”

Barna continues in her parallel role as underwriting counsel.

Arcadian writes General Liability (GL), Professional Liability (PL) and Property insurance with the backing of SiriusPoint.

Since it opened in Bermuda, Arcadian has grown from four employees to 30, Arcadian said in March. It has also opened offices in Dublin and London, with plans to open in New York sometime in 2022, officials have indicated.
