Starr seeks geographical and product line expansion with new hires

Starr Companies has revealed several appointments and promotions in its US and London business units.

The insurance firm has appointed Matthew Taylor as vice president of extended warranty, where he will focus on expanding Starr’s presence in consumer warranty products across the US.

Dave Fitzgerald has been appointed to the position of global chief claims officer.

Nick Lawrence has been named chief underwriting officer for the liabilities group. Lawrence will be responsible for all London market business including US Desk and expansion in the European marketplace.

Based in London, Laura Owen has joined the company as head of accident and health. Owen will be responsible for the company's London market business and additionally growth and expansion in the European marketplace where local offices have been established.

Lastly, Joyce Segall has been promoted to head of domestic accident and health covering the US and Canada. Segall joined Starr in February of 2016 as chief underwriting officer for accident and health.
