Standard Insurance Company appoints new VP of risk underwriting
Standard Insurance Company (The Standard) has appointed Kathleen Quetel as second vice president of risk underwriting.
Most recently, Quetel served as senior director of risk management. She joined The Standard in 1992 as an associate underwriter, before becoming national account underwriter before entering leadership in 2009.
In her new role and as part of underwriting’s senior leadership team, Quetel will help set The Standard’s risk underwriting vision and strategy, responsible for implementing that strategy with her teams, which cover the northeast and southeast regions of the US.
“I’m very pleased to announce Kathleen’s promotion,” said Tom Foran, vice president of underwriting and product development at The Standard. “Her passion for leadership, continuous improvement and building strong relationships with our sales and actuarial partners has been a driving force of our excellent results in sales, block growth, persistency and profit in recent years,” he said.
