SRS hires Willis talent to support growth strategy in Guernsey and Europe
Independent insurance company manager Strategic Risk Solutions (SRS) has hired a senior executive from Willis Towers Watson (WTW) to support its growth strategy in Guernsey and Europe.
Richard Paris-Smith (pictured) will join SRS as European client service leader on January 1, 2022. Reporting to Guernsey managing director Peter Child, he will assume responsibility for a portfolio of existing clients while working with the SRS team.
Paris-Smith has more than 30 years’ experience in the insurance industry. He spent 24 years in the London broking market, focused on creating innovative reinsurance solutions, including as executive director at Arthur J Gallagher. He moved to Willis Guernsey in 2004, where he has gained significant experience in managing and advising captive and other specialised insurance and reinsurance vehicles. Most recently, he served as head of office Guernsey at Willis Towers Watson.
“I’m thrilled that Richard has agreed to joining SRS,” said Child. “I’ve known him for many years and I’m delighted to be working with him at last. His personal values of integrity, dedication and professionalism – values shared by the SRS team - will ensure the delivery of the best possible service to our clients and represent a great fit with the independence and commitment to quality that set SRS apart.”
He added: “With Richard’s appointment, we are adding yet another top-quality professional to our team. Since officially opening our Guernsey office in February, we’ve attracted impressive talent who are excited about supporting the ongoing expansion of SRS’s European as well as global presence in captive and commercial insurance company management and insurance-linked securities.”
