Specialty insurer Canopius taps MGA Falvey for dive into inland marine

Global specialty re/insurer  Canopius Group will partner with a newly created team at US-based managing general agent Falvey Insurance Group for an offer in inland marine.

Beginning this month, Canopius will provide paper for Falvey, who will act as managing general agent to help Canopius expand its US product line.

Falvey had announced creation of the new inland marine offer at end-February and onboarded an experienced six-person team to launch the line.

Canopius head of US Ocean Marine John Ellis said: “We’re excited to partner with FIG to fill an important gap in product lines and considerably strengthen our relationship with brokers and their clients. With this new product, we are fostering vital partnerships that will grow our business for years to come.”

Falvey chief operating officer Jack Falvey commented: “Since onboarding the team about 30 days ago, we have implemented a fully functional and customized underwriting system, which includes invoicing and claims filing, and have secured paper with Canopius US. Our team worked tirelessly to make this launch quick-to-market as we wanted to make the inland marine product available to our broker partners as soon as possible.”
