Specialist Risk unveils new CFO to drive next stage of growth strategy
Specialist Risk Group (SRG) has hired a new group chief financial officer (CFO) as part of its growth strategy from a Big Four accounting firm.
Joe Hanly (pictured) will join SRG as group CFO, subject to regulatory approval, following senior roles at PwC, Penna, Integrity Software and most recently, Reed & Mackay where he has been CFO since 2016.
His experience includes multiple senior finance roles within diverse private equity owned businesses and covers the full range of finance functions as well as operations, mergers and acquisitions and international expansion. Hanly will be based in London and will join SRG’s board.
SRG introduced a new majority shareholder HGGC in December 2020 and since then has completed eight acquisitions. The company has also strengthened its leadership team with the addition of Clare Lebecq as COO and Jonathan Bines as managing director of its international business, Specialist Risk International.
Warren Downey, SRG Group CEO said: “Joe is a fantastic addition to our team, and I am thrilled that he is joining us to help deliver the next stage of our growth journey. He will play an integral part in the continued development of our business, and I look forward to the input and expertise that he will bring. Joe’s experience of working for a range of companies backed by private equity investment will be invaluable as we continue in our pursuit of attracting specialists and building a company we are proud to tell our friends and family about.”
Hanly commented: “I have followed the progress made by SRG over the past few years and have been impressed by its distinctive culture, combined with it’s market position as a home for specialists. I am looking forward to working with Warren and the team to help play my part in the next chapter of SRG’s exciting growth journey.”
