
Sompo International taps Sanlam CEO as chief risk officer
Bermuda-based specialty property and casualty re/insurer Sompo International has appointed a new chief risk officer (CRO), who most recently served as chief executive of Sanlam Pan Africa General Insurance.
Brule was at the Sanlam and Saham groups in Casablanca, Morocco for around seven years, serving as deputy CEO of Saham Financial before becoming CEO of Sanlam Pan Africa General Insurance.
He was previously at American International Group (AIG), where he was based in a number of European countries, eventually working as chief risk officer for EMEA and a director of AIG Europe Holdings until 2015. He began his insurance career as an underwriter at SCOR.
