Skuld looks to revolutionise claims handling with new automated solution

Marine insurance provider  Skuld has unveiled a new fully automated online solution, which it believes will revolutionise the handling of claims.

Skuld is the first dedicated marine insurer to develop an online claims tool that will allow members to receive reimbursement of crew claims automatically.

The solution will allow members, clients, brokers and crewing managers to notify all crew claims to Skuld through its website, add information, documents and cost.

Simpler claims will be handled automatically, with cash reimbursement processed as quickly as the banking system allows. Skuld said the system recognises more complex cases, which will be reverted to its claims handlers.

The insurer believes this efficient and streamlined solution will benefits all stakeholders, using a standardised process with less email correspondence and a task manager to keep track of outstanding tasks for the claim. It will also bring enhanced transparency between all parties, with a good overview of all notified and submitted claims and their status.

The move is a part of its strategy to bolster the club’s digital capabilities.
