Sava Re expands management board with new appointment

Reinsurer Sava Re has appointed an additional member to its management board.

David Benedek (Pictured) has been appointed for a five-year term, following approval from the Insurance Supervision Agency.

Benedek will assume responsibility for financial operations and asset management, and for the governance of strategic investments in pension companies, asset management companies and healthcare companies.

Benedek has held senior and executive roles at Nova Ljubljanska Banka d.d., Triglav INT d.d., Gorenjska Banka d.d. and Zavarovalnica Triglav d.d. He also has experience in corporate governance of subsidiaries within larger systems, mergers and acquisitions, and bancassurance, as well as in securities portfolio management, corporate finance and strategic investment management for healthcare companies.

Davor I. Gjivoje Jr, chairman of the Sava Re supervisory board, said: "The supervisory board firmly believes that the management board in the envisioned new four-member composition, with its know-how, significant experience, skills and goal focus, will continue to deliver on the planned strategy of the Company and the Sava Insurance Group."
