Run-off firm Marco bags expertise honed at Allianz
European P&C Run-off specialist Marco Capital Holdings (Marco) has lured talent developed at Allianz and Axis Re to be its new group chief actuary.
Stefan Habereder takes up his new role at Marco on August 1, 2022, and will be a member of the firm’s senior management.
Habereder is a qualified actuary and brings 26 years’ experience, mainly at senior level, gained at Allianz and Axis Re. During eleven years at Allianz, he held several important posts including head of global lines for Allianz Re, head of corporate actuarial at Allianz Global Risks and general manager, underwriting at Allianz Re in Ireland.
In his 15 years at Axis Re, he was a member of the executive reinsurance leadership group and served as chief risk officer reinsurance and chief actuary Europe. He was also a member of the group’s Risk & Reinsurance Reserving Committees and chaired the Reinsurance Management Initiated Audit Committee.
With a wide breadth of experience and in-depth understanding of risk and the global re/insurance space, Habereder brings robust expertise across pricing, underwriting and portfolio risk. His experience in creative deal structuring solutions also takes in an understanding of deal implications on capital and strategy.
