RSG recognises executives who built up Ryan Re with formal leadership structure

International insurer Ryan Specialty Group (RSG) has confirmed a formalised leadership structure for its subsidiary Ryan Re Underwriting Managers, LLC (Ryan Re).

RSG said the announcement about Ryan Re, which was founded in 2019 to specialise in North American property and casualty treaty reinsurance, reflected “the true collaboration of its principles and active involvement developing Ryan Re as a premier broker reinsurance market”.

Under the structure, the executive leadership team for Ryan Re comprises Brian Boornazian, as executive chairman, and Emil Issavi, as chief executive officer and president. RSG said that in these leadership roles, Boornazian and Issavi will continue to be actively engaged in all aspects of Ryan Re’s management, underwriting and business development.

In addition, Ryan Re has appointed Steve Capodanno as chief operating officer. He will continue to retain his responsibilities as head of claims in addition to his new role.
