RSA hires UK/Europe CEO from Zurich

RSA has appointed Steve Lewis, formerly of Zurich, as chief executive officer (CEO) for the UK and Western Europe. He will join the company with effect from January 2015.

Adrian Brown, who currently holds that position, will remain in his role until August 31, 2014, when he will leave the business to join AJ Gallagher as executive chairman, underwriting and distribution.

In his new role, Lewis will be responsible for the RSA and MORE TH>N brands in the UK, the 123.ie brand in Ireland and RSA’s businesses across Western Europe.

He will join the group executive team and report to group chief executive Stephen Hester.

Lewis joins from Zurich where he was CEO, UK General Insurance & Shared Services, a role he has held since 2009. During his 25 year career at Zurich he has held a number of operational and financial roles in the UK, Zurich and Asia Pacific.
