RSA appoints commercial director Europe
Commercial insurer RSA has appointed Jeroen den Tex as commercial director, Europe, responsible for developing the sales, marketing and distribution strategy across RSA’s five European operations, Nordic Hull and the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).
In this newly created role, Den Tex heads up the commercial teams for these seven territories and manages head office relationships with major global brokers. He reports to Owen Thomas, sales & distribution director, global risk solutions (GRS), and joins the European leadership team, led by GRS Europe director, Richard Turner.
Den Tex spent the past five years at Aon Inpoint where he was managing director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, responsible for global carrier relationships, as well as being global strategic marketing director. Den Tex will continue to be based in the Netherlands.
Thomas said: “Jeroen has a track record for strong sales delivery and is an excellent commercial operator. Combined with his leadership and deep understanding of the EMEA insurance market and broker community, Jeroen will greatly enhance our ability to grow GRS Europe in the markets in which we want to grow.
“Through feedback and customer satisfaction surveys we know that brokers and customers want us to be consistent and to clearly articulate the benefits of working with RSA in their specific sector. To this end, Jeroen will also be responsible for rolling out RSA sector specialisms across Europe and ensuring our propositions meet the needs and exceed the expectations of our customers and brokers.”
Den Tex added: “It’s an exciting time to be joining RSA as we develop our sector specialisms in the European markets, incorporating strong underwriting and claims service with niche risk management expertise. GRS Europe is a diverse and well-balanced business and I look forward to being out in the European market, building our profile in areas where we see scope to grow, such as real estate, marine, construction and renewable energy.”
