Aon lifts insiders in crisis management, war & terrorism
Global re/insurance broker Aon has lifted two insiders to lead crisis management and its war and terrorism desk.
Tony Day (pictured right) becomes head of crisis management, having most been chief broking officer for Crisis Management at Aon, a role he first took in 2017. Prior to this, he was head of global terrorism and before that, when he joined Aon in 2013, head of International Terrorism. Before joining Aon, Tony held several roles at Chesterfield Insurance Brokers and Crescent Global in political violence and terrorism.
Julia Dickson (pictured left) takes the post of head of war and terrorism. Dickson joined Aon in 2013 and was most recently head of international war and terrorism. Before joining the Aon’s terrorism and political violence team, Julia had specialised in diamond broking for Hennig, the leading international diamond broker and consultant.
The head of property, casualty and crisis management at Aon UK, Helene Madell, said: “These are two strong appointments for Aon and we are very pleased to fill these key positions from within our existing talent pool, demonstrating the opportunities for progression at the firm. Tony and Julia have strong knowledge of the industry and have produced exceptional outcomes for clients, so I look forward to continuing my work with them in their new roles.”
Aon UK’s global specialty products leader Bernhard Steves added: “Tony and Julia have developed a talented team of brokers and nurtured an experienced leadership team which has enabled incredible growth and innovation. Their effective collaboration has ensured Aon remains at the forefront of the London market and I will be excited to see the direction in which they take their new roles.”
