QBE North America confirms Dan Moore as COO
Specialist Insurer QBE North America has confirmed the appointment of Dan Moore as chief operating officer (COO), effective immediately. He had been serving in this role on an interim basis since January.
In his new role, Moore will lead claims, technology and operations and oversee communications and branding. Reporting to QBE North America CEO Todd Jones, he will also serve as a member of QBE's North America executive committee.
Moore has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance and consulting industries. Before this appointment, he had been serving as head of operations since August 2018, overseeing a variety of centralised functions including operations services, technical operations, operational reporting, underwriting support, and programme operations. He joined QBE in 2013 as senior vice president, claims services.
Prior to QBE, Moore worked for over nine years at Fireman's Fund/Allianz in a variety of senior leadership roles across claims, risk services, and operations. Before Fireman's Fund/Allianz, he provided strategy, operational, and enterprise transformation consulting to a variety of industries at Braun Consulting and Grant Thornton.
"We're thrilled to have Dan officially step into the role of Chief Operating Officer," said Jones. "Since he joined QBE in 2013, he has proven himself as an effective leader who rallies his teams and delivers outstanding results. His teams have successfully launched many innovative services to improve customer service such as TextQBE, our AI-powered communications platform that speeds and enhances communications with customers when they have a claim. They have also unified many routines across business units to streamline the underwriting process and support our integrated approach to managing risk for customers.
"With Dan as COO, we're very excited about the additional progress we can make to serve our customers more efficiently and effectively while delivering superior business results."
