Pioneer adds new hires from XL Catlin and USLI to miscellaneous E&O unit
Pioneer Underwriters, the underwriting group within Minova Insurance, has expanded its miscellaneous errors and omissions (E&O) division with two new appointments.
Milan Devetak joins as senior underwriter, and Andrew Nowlan as an underwriter in the miscellaneous E&O, technology and cyber division of its US underwriting platform, Pioneer Special Risk (PSR).
Both the executives will be based in Exton, Pennsylvania, and report to the vice president of miscellaneous E&O for PSR David Lucey.
Devetak was previously at XL Catlin as a senior underwriter for management liability, where he was responsible for managing, maintaining and servicing a profitable book of business for the east coast region. He began his insurance career with ACE USA, where he was a products and premises liability claims adjuster.
Nowlan was most recently a professional lines underwriter at United States Liability Insurance Group (USLI), where he was responsible for clients in the Western US.
"I'm thrilled to welcome both Milan and Andrew to Pioneer and look forward to working with them as we expand our miscellaneous E&O division," Lucey said. "We see enormous opportunity in this niche segment of the market where we will continue to deliver technical underwriting expertise to our broker partners on behalf of their clients.
"Milan and Andrew both have proven underwriting track records and will play an important role in strengthening our proposition as PSR continues to grow its presence in the US."
