Peak Re appoints co-heads of P&C amid reshuffle

Peak Reinsurance, the Hong Kong- based global reinsurer, has made two internal promotions to serve as co heads of property and casualty (P&C).

The appointments will replace Chris Kershaw, managing director of global markets and co-head of P&C at Peak Re, who is retiring from the company on April 2 after eight years of service.

Iain Reynolds and Andy Souter will take up the positions as co heads of P&C on 1 April 2021, while Kershaw will take on an advisory role at Peak Re after his retirement.

Reynolds has been with Peak Re since 2016 as head of analytics, before which he was at Guy Carpenter serving as head of cat modelling for South East Asia, Korea and India. Souter joined Peak Re in November 2020 as director of global markets, before which he was head of capital at Pioneer Underwriters.

Franz Josef Hahn, Peak Re’s chief executive officer, thanked Kershaw for his “contribution, commitment and leadership.” He emphasised the breadth of experience Peak Re has reserve to replace him and “carry forward the high service levels, innovation and culture for which Peak Re has become known. ”
