Oneglobal to enter Dutch market with Aon hire

Lloyd’s of London broker  Oneglobal has hired a CEO to lead a new office in the Netherlands.

Alex van der Wyck (pictured) has joined the company to build out its 12th location and fourth in Europe, Oneglobal Broking announced today (16 August).

Reporting to group CEO Mike Reynolds, Van der Wyck will oversee the establishment of the company’s Dutch operations, the latest in a series of new offices following the opening of locations in Bermuda, Hong Kong and Singapore.

The London-headquartered broker also has offices in Limassol in Cyprus, and the Greek capital Athens.

Van der Wyck was most recently a regional managing director at Aon’s insurance broker business, responsible for the specialty broking team for Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. During a 12-year career at Aon, he was also CEO of Aon Indonesia and head of M&A solutions for the Asia Pacific region.

He has also worked for Marsh in roles based in the Netherlands and the Middle East.

Van der Wyck said he would be building “a team of highly experienced insurance brokers from across the Dutch market in our target business segments”, aligned to Oneglobal’s capabilities.

“I look forward to growing Oneglobal’s already strong client base and delivering excellent broking services to our clients in the Netherlands,” he added.
