OneAdvent hires 40+ year vet from Howden to head risk & compliance
Managing general agency (MGA) platform OneAdvent has hired a market veteran from insurance broker Howden to build and strengthen the business’ risk and compliance function.
Richard Palmer (pictured) joins OneAdvent as head of compliance & risk, responsible for creating robust compliance frameworks and designing a suite of procedures to build on OneAdvent’s existing compliance and regulatory provision.
Palmer has over 40 years’ experience in insurance, beginning his career as a broker before moving to specialise in compliance. He has spent the past twenty years in a number of senior compliance roles. Most recently he was the compliance manager at Howden Insurance Brokers.
OneAdvent provides comprehensive compliance support to help new businesses get established in the market.
Palmer said: “The OneAdvent team is committed to helping new businesses find a foothold in the market and grow sustainably, yet profitably. Many simply don’t have the resources to achieve this alone, they bring their ideas; we provide the operational framework to help them. In an ever-changing regulatory landscape, it’s vital that new businesses have all the support they need to operate. I’m looking forward to using my years of expertise to guide our customers through the process and help them to flourish.”
Tim Quayle, managing director at OneAdvent, added: “Our goal is to make it easy for insurance entrepreneurs to bring their vision to life. We have built a team who have all the knowledge and expertise to support them in making this happen. Richard has an impressive reputation in the market and will be an excellent addition to the business. I can think of no-one better to deliver the level of robust compliance and risk support that our customers need to grow.”
