Novae casualty head leaves; replacement named
Specialist Lloyd's insurer Novae's divisional head of casualty Bob Patten is leaving the company after two years.
Patten joined Novae in February 2015, bringing over 30 years of industry experience. He joined from Aspen Insurance, where he was head of international property/casualty, responsible for managing the excess casualty division and for overseeing Aspen’s UK corporate and regional property and commercial business.
He has also held roles with XL Europe (chief underwriting manager), Starr Excess, Ace Bermuda and CE Heath.
The company told Intelligent Insurer in a written statement: "Bob Patten is to leave Novae. He has done a great job uniting and leading our casualty division through tough market conditions and we would like to thank him for the help, guidance and support he has brought to Novae. The division is leaner, focused and more profitable because of him. We wish him all the best for the future."
The company said that Patten will be replaced by Ross Louden, currently the deputy divisional head for casualty.
Novae operates as a property and casualty re/insurance business through Syndicate 2007 at Lloyd’s.
