Neon poaches senior underwriter from Ascot Underwriting
Specialist Lloyd's insurer Neon has appointed Chris Conway, formerly a senior underwriter at Ascot Underwriting Bermuda, to its property reinsurance team in Bermuda.
He will report to Nick Pritchard, head of property reinsurance. The company said his aim will be to expand Neon’s ambitions in the US market, producing business for Neon’s Bermuda office through US brokers.
Conway was most recently a senior underwriter at Ascot Underwriting Bermuda. Prior to this, he worked for a diverse range of capital platforms, having previously held roles at AQR Re, Third Point Reinsurance and Axis Specialty.
Chris Fisher, CEO Neon Bermuda, said: “We are thrilled to welcome Chris to Neon Bermuda and he joins the number of high calibre appointments we’ve made since opening the office in 2016. Chris’s hire will further build on our significant progress to date and emphasises our desire to expand our US book of property business. His broad experience will prove invaluable in supporting the expansion of Neon’s underwriting platform in Bermuda as we continue to enhance and diversify our capabilities.”
