MS Amlin snaps up SCOR/Aon talent for expansion in Asian market
Lloyd’s global re/insurer MS Amlin Underwriting (MS AUL) has made a slew of hires from SCOR/ Aon and others to bolster its reinsurance underwriting and claims expertise in Asia Pacific.
Six new hires are set to join its Singapore-based operation MS Amlin Asia Pacific (MS AAP), four of which will be part of the reinsurance division, with an additional hire joining the political violence, trade credit and political risks team. They will be supported by the growing central function of the Singapore office, with the additional appointment of an office manager.
With almost a decade of industry experience, Alex Wang joins the reinsurance division as a senior underwriter, having previously been client manager and treaty underwriter at SCOR in Paris. Wang has relocated to Singapore and, along with the additional new joiners to the reinsurance team, will report to William Ho, head of reinsurance underwriting and CEO.
Joining Wang in the reinsurance team as assistant underwriters will be Jason Tan and Srinath Iyer. Tan most recently held the position of broker at Aon Reinsurance Solutions Malaysia, while Iyer was previously manager of Reinsurance at International Reinsurance and Insurance Consultancy and Broking Services Pvt Ltd in Mumbai.
The new addition to the division will be Kris Gwee, a senior claims adjuster, who joins from GrabInsure, Grab Financial Group, where she held the position of manager of insurance operations. Gwee is a qualified lawyer whose career has spanned both claims and operations, reflecting MS AAP’s commitment to hiring and nurturing hybrid talent to support long-term business growth.
MS AAP’s political violence, trade credit & political risks division will be strengthened with the addition of Joash Tan as an underwriting assistant. Tan was previously a credit analyst at MUFG Bank and will report into Patrick Allen.
Finally, Karin Toh will join MS AAP as office manager, a newly formed role integral to supporting the expansion of operations in Asia, and executive assistant to Will Ho, CEO of MS AAP. Toh joins from Firmus Capital, where she held the role of client servicing manager, and has previously held office manager and administrative positions at Rockworth Capital Partners and Raffles Quay Asset Management.
