MS Amlin hires former Sirius property underwriter in expansion move

Lloyd’s global specialty re/insurer  MS Amlin Underwriting (MS AUL) has made a senior hire, formerly of Sirius International, to expand its property underwriting capabilities.

Nathan O’Donnell (pictured) joins MS AUL as a senior underwriter, reporting to Sam Geddes, head of property and allied lines.

O’Donnell has more than 20 years’ experience within the Lloyd’s market, with expertise in direct and facultative property insurance, and knowledge of the US and international property markets.

He was most recently a senior property underwriter at Sirius International since 2017, where he managed the team and oversaw the 75% growth of the portfolio between 2019 – 2020. Prior to that, he held roles at Novae Group, Mitsui Sumitomo, Chaucer, and Heritage Managing Agency.

Sam Geddes, head of property and Allied Lines, MS AUL, commented: “I am delighted that a professional of Nathan’s calibre has joined our property team. His appointment reaffirms our investment in leading talent and continued commitment to the property market, as we look to grow both our team and our portfolio. He is an excellent addition to the team, and his deep experience will be invaluable as we expand both our US and International property accounts.”
