Motor insurer Ageas signs three year deal with specialist Marmalade
Motor insurer Ageas has agreed a three year deal with Marmalade, a specialist firm that focuses on young drivers and their parents, to provide more flexible policies for learners, students and ‘named young drivers’.
Policies will enable young people to drive without risking the car owner’s no claims discount, which will be music to the ears of many parents.
The learner driver Insurance can be added to existing policies to cover the learner to drive a family member’s or friend’s car until they pass their driving test.
Student driver insurance is for people studying who only drive occasionally and can also be added to a policy on a vehicle they borrow.
While the ‘named young driver’ cover is based on an annual telematics policy that is an alternative to being named in the car owner’s policy. An app means that the telematics data collection system will only activate when the young driver is behind the wheel.
Ant Middle Ageas chief customer officer, said: “Ageas is best known for offering car insurance to established drivers so we’re delighted to be working with Marmalade, offering insurance cover to the next generation of drivers.”
Crispin Moger, CEO for Marmalade, said: “Marmalade chooses its partners carefully to ensure they understand our values and share the passion we maintain as a business. I am confident Ageas is the right partner for Marmalade to work with to continue challenging the industry and reshaping insurance products available for learner and young drivers.”
