Mosaic taps Bermuda insider and key shareholder for supervisory roles
Global specialty insurer Mosaic tapped a key shareholder and a long-time Bermuda insider as the upstart Bermuda-based insurer rounds out its growth team.
Upcoming board chair Caroline Foulger (pictured, right) has been Bermuda-based and insurance-focused since 1987, including 12 years leading the PwC insurance practice plus non-executive board postings for Hiscox and its units plus similar posts on other entities. Foulger calls the Mosaic business model “exciting – it’s reshaping the industry.” She will chair the board.
Alexander Dias (pictured, left) will step in to take a supervisory role on behalf of Mosaic’s anchor investor, the PE group Golden Gate Capital. Dias is CEO and managing director of Golden Gate’s specialty finance portfolio company AIC.
Mosaic’s co-CEO Mitch Blaser commented: “Caroline’s well-recognized reputation and global experience across our industry make her an ideal choice for this role … Mosaic will benefit significantly from Caroline’s wealth of financial services knowledge and thoughtful leadership perspective. We’ve invited her to the Board as Mosaic continues to build out its global growth, and we’re proud to have her join us on the journey.”
Dias commented: “I share Mosaic’s vision of growing through technology and innovation, with an emphasis on building a strong team to execute the strategy. I look forward to providing my perspective and experience as Mosaic continues to expand the business.”
Mosaic was launched in early 2021 as a specialty insurer to cover transactional liability, cyber, political violence, political risk, financial institutions and professional liability. The company currently has offices in Bermuda, London, New York, and Chicago, with plans to expand this year to Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
