Monument Re splits top leadership roles to improve growth prospects
Bermuda-based reinsurer Monument Re has made key changes to its leadership titles in a move the company believes will allow for better outcomes, entry into new markets and unlock new opportunities.
Alex Brogden has been moved to the role of group chief underwriting officer, with Carlo Elsinghorst appointed as group chief financial officer.
Brogden previously held the joint role of CFO and CUO.
Manfred Maske (pictured), the group's chief executive officer, said splitting the role will allow Brogden to “focus on the negotiation of successful outcomes for acquisitions, reinsurances and entry into new markets and new business opportunities.”
Elsinghorst joined the company as CEO of Ireland, having previously held CFO positions at various organisations.
In his new role, Elsinghorst will focus on the company’s financial and actuarial reporting and operations, treasury, tax and capital management.
“Carlo has successfully led the Irish team through Irish acquisitions and the growing maturity of the organisation,” Maske noted.
