MIS appoints head of product to refine its cat exposure management and claims tools
Geospatial imagery and re/insurance intelligence company McKenzie Intelligence Services (MIS) has appointed Rosina Smith as head of product.
Smith joins from start-up Insurdata where she was head of client success, responsible for insurance clients and managing Insurdata’s Lloyd’s Lab programme. Before that she worked at Allianz.
In her new role Smith works closely with the wider product team to deliver continued refinements and expansion of the MIS Intel portal, a software tool developed for exposure management and claims delivering intelligence during and after catastrophic global events.
She also works with the team developing the MIS Global Events Observer (GEO), which is being built using co-funding from the European Space Agency to deliver the next generation of MIS’ technology capability. MIS said GEO will supercharge its ability to collect and analyse highly accurate, geotagged external data from a huge range of space and ground sources.
Since 2016, MIS has exclusively been the geospatial imagery and intelligence provider for Lloyd’s, its managing agents, TPAs and partners, providing access to exposure management and claims data.
Smith said: “The insurtech market in the UK is a vibrant and collaborative network to be a part of. It is made up of a range of skills and backgrounds, and although everyone is building different products and services, we all share the same ambition: to contribute to the industry’s success in this ever-changing environment.”
Forbes McKenzie, chief executive and founder of MIS, called Smith “a high calibre, proven insurtech and open market expert.”
He added: “The landscape of our industry has evolved rapidly over the last few years, but with change comes opportunity; and with this comes growth.”
