Miller poaches Alesco leader to expand delegated authorities business
Specialist re/insurance broker Miller has hired Alesco’s delegated authorities leader as it looks to broaden its product offering and jurisdictional capabilities in this space.
Chris Hardcastle (pictured) joins Miller in a newly created role of head of delegated authorities. He reports to Tim Norman, executive committee member and head of delegated authorities & professional risks.
Hardcastle has almost 30 years’ experience working in delegated authority business. He joins from Alesco Risk Management, where he was managing director of delegated authority for 10 years. Prior to that, he was managing director of delegated authority at Capsicum (now Gallagher Re). He has also held positions at Tysers and Aon over the course of his career.
Norman said Hardcastle’s appointment is the latest in a number of strategic senior hires “demonstrating our commitment to attracting leading talent from across the market.”
“Chris has extensive experience in developing teams in this sector and, as we continue to strengthen our well-regarded delegated authority offering, his deep technical expertise across multiple product lines and geographies will also ensure our proposition can evolve and innovate to meet the ever-changing needs of our clients,” he added.
Hardcastle commented: “ Miller already enjoys an excellent reputation in delegated authorities and, with the business’ ambition under new ownership, this is an exciting time to join. I look forward to working closely with Tim and the team to help further develop our platform.”
