MGAA sets up dedicated group to target innovation in MGA sector
The Managing General Agents’ Association (MGAA) has established a dedicated group to drive innovation and greater collaboration in the MGA sector.
The Chrysalis group will be chaired by Katherine Snedden, head of compliance at Dual Corporate Risks, and have members from ten leading MGAs in London, including Dual Group, CFC Underwriting, Nexus, Towergate, Aon Underwriting and Pioneer Underwriting.
MGAA said the group aims to encourage entrepreneurship through mentoring and provide a platform for individuals within the MGA community to share insight, knowledge and expertise.
“Chrysalis will be much more than a networking group for MGAs," said Snedden. "We want to represent not only the views and insights of the next generation, but also promote ongoing discussion on the future of the sector. We want to ensure that there is a platform for these individuals to speak on the sectors’ most impactful developments and potential disruptions.
"There is so much knowledge that can be gleaned from past, present and future members of the MGA sector, and Chrysalis aims to be a community that not only fosters engaging discussion but also creates action to support all in the sector.”
Peter Staddon, managing director of the MGAA, added: “It’s incredibly important for everyone in the sector to be able to thrive and grow. The group exists not only to support career development, but to enable those in the sector to benefit and learn from our combined experience. Chrysalis has the full support of the MGAA board and is aligned with the Association’s strategy to support the development of the sector’s talent. We’re pleased to also have the support of our member firms across the country.”
