MGAA event to unite community in avoiding a soft market
At this year’s MGAA conference, in London on July 6, 2023, re/insurance industry experts will share insights on how the MGA value chain can work together to avoid the pricing cycle mistake that leads to its “all-too-common slide into a soft market”, according to Mike Keating (pictured), the association’s CEO.
He said that the event’s theme ‘Community in Action’, which features honey bees as its totem, is one of the key reasons everyone within and connected to the MGA community should attend.
In addition to discussions on avoiding a soft market, keynote speakers and panel sessions will cover market conditions, insight into why brokers use MGAs and how MGAs can deliver for customers in the face of increased fraud and economic uncertainty, while ensuring customers are treated fairly.
The event’s vibrant exhibition will be available for delegates to engage and network further throughout the day.
Keating said: “We have a surprise guest speaker followed by our traditional awards ceremony. Frankly, there is no other place to be on July 6, 2023!”
The event comes as Keating said that the MGA community “continues to go from strength to strength wherever you sit in the value chain”. He emphasised the wide range of professionals involved in this community, from customers being placed with MGAs via their brokers, MGAs offering specialist products and unrivalled service to their insurers, to expert underwriters.
This ecosystem is further complimented by claim experts and suppliers whose products and services are critical, he added. “Representatives from all these vital stakeholder groups will be attending the conference providing an ideal opportunity to share ideas, explore opportunities, discover new products and services, as well as meet new industry colleagues.”
The MGAA annual conference will be held at Old Billingsgate, London, on July 6 2023. More details can be found on the MGAA website.
