MGA Hive Aero expands into third-party aviation war liability with $47.5m capacity
Hive Aero, a managing general agency (MGA) specialising in aviation hull war insurance, has expanded into underwriting excess third-party aviation war liabilities (AVN52) with $47.5 million capacity for 2019.
AVN52 is backed by Lloyd’s insurers Beazley and Arch.
Hive Aero began underwriting aviation hull war in April 2018 and increased its capacity to $52.5 million in 2019.
The MGA said expanding its offering to incorporate war liabilities further enhances its commitment to the aviation market and client base.
Bruce Carman, chief underwriting officer, commented: “This is a fantastic step in the right direction and comes at a time when many underwriters have reduced their participations or have withdrawn from aviation classes completely. There are a number of opportunities out there, especially with accounts such as the AVN52, which to-date, has not experienced any losses.
“Hive Aero offers a first-class service to brokers and their clients and will continue to extend the value proposition we offer our partner carriers.”
