Marsh hires Aon and Howden senior executives for UK leadership roles
Broker Marsh has appointed two senior leaders from Aon and Howden in its UK real estate practice, which is a part of Marsh JLT Specialty and provides insurance and risk advisory services to real estate owners, operators, managers, and developers.
Tim Scoble will join as CEO, and Mark Lumley as client director of Marsh's UK real estate practice.
Scoble will have overall responsibility for the development of strategic solutions that will assist clients in managing the increasingly complex risks they face. He will join the firm later this year and report to Paul Moody, CEO, Marsh JLT Specialty, UK.
In his 30-year career, Scoble has held several senior leadership roles specialising in property risk and insurance. Most recently, he was head of the UK real estate practice at Aon, a position he has held since 2016, having joined the firm in 2008. Before joining Aon, he was a leadership partner within the property investors division at Willis Towers Watson for five years.
Lumley will assume responsibility for client leadership and the strategic management of key accounts, and will report to Scoble. He will return to Marsh later this year from Howden, where he has been head of real estate since 2015. He was previously a senior vice president within Marsh’s UK real estate practice from 2007-2015. Prior to joining Marsh, Lumley was a development director at JLT for three years.
Moody said: “The UK real estate industry is faced with an increasingly complex and fast-moving risk environment, due to issues such as rising construction costs, fires or natural hazards, cyber-attacks, and terrorism.
“We’re delighted to have experts of Tim and Mark’s calibre joining our team. With their combined leadership and deep industry knowledge, our UK Real Estate Practice will be well-placed to deliver unrivalled advice and solutions to clients across the UK.”
Chris Lay, CEO, Marsh UK & Ireland, added: “Tim and Mark’s appointments underline Marsh’s commitment to the UK real estate industry and our significant investment in the firm’s market-leading capabilities. We welcome Tim and Mark to the UK Real Estate Practice, as we continue to deliver the services and solutions our clients require to mitigate the mounting challenges they now face, and contribute to their long-term success.”
