Marsh boosts M&A transactional risk practice with new global role
Global insurance broker Marsh has appointed a new global head of transactional risk to strengthen its offering in a challenging M&A marketplace.
Craig Schioppo (pictured) will take up the newly created position in addition to his current role as transactional risk practice leader for US and Canada.
Schioppo will oversee a global team of specialists responsible for the delivery of transactional risk insurance solutions, including representations and warranties insurance, to private equity and strategic investor clients engaged in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) around the world.
Schioppo has 25 years of M&A experience, having worked as an accountant, lawyer, and insurance broker throughout his career. He joined Marsh’s Private Equity and M&A (PEMA) practice in 2003 and was named to his US & Canada leadership position in 2010. Based in New York, Schioppo will report to Lucy Clarke, interim global specialty head, PEMA.
Clarke said: “In today’s volatile macro-economic and geopolitical environment, it’s never been more crucial for us to help our clients manage their M&A risks. Craig is a highly respected leader within the M&A sector and has a strong reputation for developing innovative solutions and lasting relationships both locally and globally. He is the ideal person to lead our global team going forward.”
Schioppo commented: “I look forward to leading Marsh’s global team of transactional risk specialists as we continue to find ways to help our clients protect their portfolios in a robust, yet more challenging M&A marketplace.”
