Mapfre unveils management reshuffle to accelerate growth in key markets
Spanish re/insurer Mapfre has refreshed its management teams in three key markets, Spain, Brazil and North America, as it seeks to strengthen its ability to respond to the economic and social challenges in the complex global environment. The company's chairman and chief executive Antonio Huertas said that the renewal of the management team will allow Mapfre to capitalise on the internal talent, as well as advance its strategic objectives to accelerate its transformation plan and strengthen capacities in the main regions where it operates. ...1 January, with the exception of the renewal at Mapfre Middlesea (Malta), which will take place on 1 April 2021.
In the US, the company has appointed José Manuel Corral Vázquez to the newly-created position of chief operations officer (COO). Additionally, Jaime Tamayo Ibañez has been named as CEO of North America in substitution of Alfredo Castelo Marín, who will join the corporate areas.
In Latin America, Jesús Martínez Castellanos has been appointed as CEO of LatAm business, replacing Aristobulo Bausela Sánchez, who will join Mapfre Spain.
Renzo Calda Giurato will become new CEO of the LatAM South Region, replacing Marcos Eduardo Ferreira, who is leaving the company. Felipe Nascimento will replace Luis Gutiérrez Mateo as CEO of Mapfre Seguros in Brazil. Mateo will join Mapfre Spain.
Julian Trinchet will serve as CEO of Mapfre Peru, replacing Renzo Calda Giurato. José María Romero Lora as new CEO of the LatAm North Region, and CEO of Mapfre Mexico, taking over from Jesús Martínez Castellanos.
Moira Romero will serve as CEO of the Central America Subregion and Dominican Republic, replacing José María Romero Lora.
In Iberia, Raúl Costilla Prieto has been appointed as managing director of Mapfre Vida, replacing Juan Fernández Palacios who is retiring, and as general manager of the sales and business development area of Iberia.
Javier del Río Martín will serve as general manager of the Iberia technical area, while Javier Oliveros Pérez as deputy general manager for sales in Iberia.
Furthermore, Mapfre has appointed José Ramón Alegre Cabrelles as new CEO of the Eurasia region. Miguel Ángel Rosa Gámez will become CEO of Verti Germany in substitution of Cabrelles.
Javier Moreno González will become CEO of Mapfre Middlesea (Malta), replacing Felipe Navarro López de Chicheri.
Furthermore, Alfredo Castelo Marín will join as new group chief business and clients officer, replacing José Manuel Corral Vázquez, a position he will execute in addition to supervising the Eurasia region.
Vanessa Escrivá García will become the new group chief information officer in the corporate technology and processes area, replacing Felipe Nascimento. Enrique de la Torre Velasco will serve as head of corporate life business. And, Felipe Navarro López de Chicheri as assistant general manager for administration, with effect from April 1, 2021, replacing Carlos Barahona who is retiring from Mapfre.
