Mapfre appoints new chief global brokers officer
Spanish re/insurer Mapfre has appointed Chris Smith as its new chief global brokers officer.
Smith will be responsible for client relationship strategy and policies for the global brokers channel. He will report to José Manuel Corral, general manager of the corporate business and clients area.
Smith joined Mapfre Global Risk in 2013, where he worked as the head of European business and subsequently as chief regions & markets officer – international.
Smith has previously worked in the London insurance market, as head of European business for RSA, and prior to that at Marsh, Aon, Willis and JLT.
