Mactavish taps Marsh and Zurich executives to expand insurance services business
Mactavish, a UK-based commercial insurance placement and disputes firm, has made two senior hires from the insurance sector to meet the 'growing demand' for its services.
Liam Fitzpatrick joins Mactavish in a newly created position of client services director, where he will oversee the delivery of the firm’s technical output and be responsible for all aspects of client service.
Fitzpatrick has worked as a management liability broker for the last five years within the private equity and M&A division of Marsh UK.
Matt Pellowe joins Mactavish as business development director, where he will be focused on how the company can further expand on its growth. Previously, he has worked at AXA as a liability underwriter and most recently at Zurich where he worked in their deal management team, coordinating complex multi-line insurance solutions across both property/casualty and speciality classes.
Bruce Hepburn, chief executive officer of Mactavish, said: “We have enjoyed very strong growth in recent years, and we expect demand for our services to increase. We are therefore delighted to have Liam and Matthew join us, as they have extensive experience of the insurance sector and also how insurers and brokers work, which is invaluable to our future growth. We plan to become the preferred employer for insurance employees committed to the highest possible standards of insurance quality and transparency.”
Fitzpatrick added: "I am very excited to be joining Mactavish at such a pivotal stage in the company's growth. In my short time at Mactavish, it has become very clear that there is much work to be done in helping raise standards across the insurance industry and I look forward to contributing towards Mactavish's efforts in doing so."
Pellowe commented: “After a period of growth, we now have a greater range of unique propositions and solutions that will serve and interest a much wider client base. Our focus will be to grow into new areas within the industry and I look forward to taking an integral role in helping Mactavish achieve its full growth potential.”
