Lockton Re poaches former Aon exec as chair of global retro unit

Reinsurance broker  Lockton Re has appointed a new chairman of its Global Retrocession & Property Specialty, Bermuda and Market Capital unit.

Robert Bisset was most recently strategic growth leader for Aon Reinsurance UK focused on driving business development across Aon’s London based global businesses in addition to his retrocessional client responsibilities.

He began his career at EW Blanch in 1994 in the US, eventually joining the EW Blanch Capital Markets division which took him to London in 1998. In 2002, he transferred to Bermuda to assist in the creation of Benfield’s new Bermuda platform and later became CEO of the Benfield, then Aon Benfield, Bermuda office. Robert relocated to London in 2013 and ran Aon’s Global ReSpecialty (GRS) team as CEO from 2014 to 2019.

Bisset will also become a member of Lockton Re’s Global Executive Committee.
